My screen blanks as all the reports say but it doesn’t freeze. The problem is the game setting an incorrect gamma value. Changind desktops and typing blindly “nvidia-settings” on a terminal restores the correct values and I can carry on playing the game. My problem is that I don’t have sound.
You should be able to launch those corrections in a launcher shell script, if you can access them on a terminal.
The game ran fine for me. I even left it at some check point all night and woke up in the morning to continue but then it was a bit slowish.
Thanks for the update – runs fine now under Wine 1.4 :)
