Hey, Guys,
I’m on Ubuntun 12.04 on Toshiba A500 1HK, and the game is running OK, but only when the orcs are a few. When they get more and more – the game slows drastically and becomes almost un-playable. Is there I can do?
Thank in advance :)
Did you try lowering the graphics settings for the game? Also try using different desktop like Gnome Classic / No Effects – or Mint – or Cinnamon… kill all un-needed processes etc… run TOP while playing and see if it’s CPU or GPU issues = that laptop uses shared VRAM – so RAM speed could be a factor?
Yes, I tried at “low” graphics also, no difference. I’m with Ubuntu 12.04 and with i5 processor and Nvidia 330GM video with 1GB memory. I’m playing World of Warcraft with no problems, so I thought this should be an easy one :)
So – I’ll try using different desktop and see if some process can be killed and make the game run smoother. And also – I’ll see if the things will change if I clean my laptop, cause I have the laptop for two years and it hasn’t been cleaned by now. And it’s summer time here and the heat the laptop exudes is huge … so maybe the graphics card gets overheated and that’s why it gets slower.
I’ll post when have some results ;)
