WINE SETTINGS:
Windows XP – Installed Tine 2 into clean wineprefix using ‘winetricks steam’
GAME SETTINGS:
I set anti-alias to medium and set other graphical settings on very high without issues.
RUNNING THE GAME:
Trine 2 installed Microsoft Direct X and ran very well with no major issues
Problems noted:
I noticed the cursor control accuracy was a little off and jerky – though posed no major issue when playing under Linux. Some settings tweaks may make the game run better.
Not tested:
Online / Local Co-op / 3D mode

Well why didn’t install the version of linux for trine2 (i thought steam should do that) i bought it and I played native this game no reason to use wine to play it, i m wondering if they will force us to play all the game by wine I hope not.
Steam is for Windows only. Wine is required to run Windows programs on Linux. Yes, there is a native Linux version of Trine 2 – though Steam does not install that.
